Over the years, it had always been on my mind to go into real estate. However, life took me in other directions, and it wasn’t until several years ago, that l decided it was time to make a career change. It was the best professional decision l have ever made, and the second best decision, was to join Royal LePage, an agency second to none, and to partner with Marcus Wilkinson. Hence, Thompson & Wilkinson. 

To succeed in real estate sales, one must definitely be a “people person”. I am certainly that. Meeting new clients, interacting, to be involved, to be part in one of, if not THE most important decisions and purchase of their lives, to me is an honour. 

I take immense pride in my work, as l did in my previous professional positions in Fine Art and Design. I strive to deliver exemplary service to my clients through honesty, integrity, and the highest level of trust, privacy, and mostly  importantly, sound advise and exceptional results, particularly in this complicated market. 

I have lived in west Toronto for more than thirty years. I was married here, raised two super Miniature Schnauzers here, made lifetime friends here, and I’ve watched the water front, Humber Bay Shores, go from woods, motels, underdeveloped land, to a thriving community; to say nothing of the futuristic skyline of our world class city. I consider myself a true Torontonian. I love this city and the people in it.

Denise Board

I am a lifelong and passionate citizen of Toronto, with a love for helping people and a genuine curiosity about our city’s history. Having built my career around working with people and taking on challenges with a Fortune 500 corporation, I decided to pursue my true calling and make the bold move into a real estate career.

My whole life journey is a testament to my desire to be helpful and empowering. As a genuine real estate buff with experience buying and selling homes on a personal basis, I understand and appreciate the importance of transparency and integrity. Buying a home is no small decision, and I’ve been there. I believe the best real estate agent is someone you can trust to take on all of the tough stuff in the home buying process, and I’m proud to come with the combination of business and people skills to make it happen the right way.

Toronto is a truly incredible city to live in, and I enjoy the vibrancy of the city’s arts, sports, food, entertainment, and all the ongoing festivals around the city each year. This city is also home to many fundraising events, and I always find it a truly rewarding experience to volunteer my personal time in helping various charities such as working with special needs adults and teens, cancer research fundraising and among others that result in my deep commitment to community service.

I keep my life full of joy and excitement through my family and friends, my love for animals and my passions for music, traveling, photography, rowing, and meeting people of all walks of life.

Marcus Wilkinson

Having been born and raised in Germany, l learned from a very young age the importance of efficiency and discipline. To this day, it is my belief being punctual and reliable is not only a mark of good character, but a show of respect. 

Very early in my life, l developed an interest in design and construction. I spent evenings sketching variations of my dream home, with great enthusiasm, which l still feel today. My parents inherited an old house from my great grandparents which l helped restore,and this enhanced my dream of becoming an architect, which as you see, did not materialize, but l did marry one. 

In secondary school, l excelled in English and Mathematics. Upon completion l was conscripted into military service, where hard work and teamwork influenced my future development. I entered Humboldt University, where Albert Einstein once taught, to complete my education in geography and mathematics. My love of English took me to Britain to teach at a comprehensive school. In 2011 I obtained my teaching degree and was hired at an inner-city school in Berlin which was one of the most challenging experiences of my life. My selling and negotiating skills were tested every day, as was my patience. I absolutely loved it. 

It was during this time, l met my future spouse, a Canadian. We connected immediately, and in a relatively short time, we made the decision, l would move to Canada. An ultimately rewarding experience. 

Recently, we celebrated our eighth anniversary and welcomed two new family members into the fold. First came Gustav, a Goldendoodle, our adorable lamb-in-dogs clothing. He had all our attention, until along came the love of our lives, our truly special son, who has brought us joy beyond belief, along with sleepless nights. 

Next to my family, real estate brings me great satisfaction and the best part is when l can put a smile on the faces of my clients.
